adds an extra layer of security to your VisTab account. Instead of just needing your password (something you know), MFA requires one more piece of information to verify your identity. This can be:
- Something you have: For example, a code sent to your phone or generated by an authentication app.
- Something you are: For example, your fingerprint or facial recognition.
By combining your password with one of these additional factors, MFA makes it much harder for unauthorised people to access your account.
If you would like to require all your team members to use MFA when they log in to VisTab, please submit a request.
Register Device
- Hover over your name in the top right corner and click on User Profile
- Select Register Device and follow the on-screen prompts.
- Select Next
- Enter a name to identify the device you're using for MFA, for example "John's iPhone"
The setup for Mac and Windows are slightly different, follow the instructions below for Mac or click here for instructions to setup MFA on Windows.
If you're having issues please head over to app.vistab.co.nz on your smartphone and follow the steps above, this will skip some of the steps below.
Mac
If you're using a Mac with iCloud Keychain, click Continue
If not, click Other Options
Choose how you'd like to sign in to vistab.co.nz. In our example we will set up a passkey on a smartphone. Use Security key if you want to setup a a Yubikey or similar.
Scan the presented QR code and save passkey. Follow the prompts on your smartphone.
That's it. Click Next to login.
Windows
Click OK if you're prompted to setup a security key.
Choose how you'd like to sign in to vistab.co.nz. In our example we will set up a passkey on a smartphone. Choose "Use a phone, tablet, or security key" unless you want to use Windows Hello or an external security key.
Scan the presented QR code and save passkey. Follow the prompts on your smartphone.
That's it. Click Next to login.
